#21 - Kilduff's Cavern
I really like going to John Kilduff's studio and brainstorming ideas for art shows with him. And this show was born from one of those sessions.
John had the idea to create an exhibit of works for your man cave, which is why I named it Kilduff's Cavern. He created sports jerseys and movie posters as well as a 3 dimensional sculpture of a pinball machine. It was a really epic looking show.
The new location we were in also had a massive courtyard, so I thought it would be great to have The Radioactive Chicken Heads perform during the opening reception. After all, John's openings kept getting crazier and crazier - from the simple flower shop, to naked Ben Franklin, to a full fledged Bakery, and finally with a band as well as naked Michelin man.
MQ Schmidt showed up as the Michelin Man, which brought one of John's paintings in the show to life.

“The artist John Kilduff, who is the subject of an upcoming documentary film, has created the ultimate collection of art for your man cave! Inspired by vintage ads for beer, sports jerseys, gasoline signs, pinball machines, and the hit television show American Pickers - the artist has reimagined classic Americana for a contemporary audience. His slogan “fuck it up” rings loud and clear throughout this epic new body of work. The masterpieces of this show is a full size replica of a 1978 Charlie’s Angels pinball machine created entirely out of cardboard and paint.
During the opening party there will be a special live musical performance by The Radioactive Chicken Heads at 7:30pm. ”
